Nouvelle Culture – Dance With Me (New Version)
William Basinski – Silent Night
Ennio Morricone: ‘I don’t know the names of any pop musicians’

Who can blame him? The Guardian has a Q&A with the maestro here.
Ahmed Malek and Other Treasures From Habibi Funk’s North African Crate-Digging Expeditions
This post, courtesy of Bandcamp, covers a bit more regarding Ahmed Malek and Habibi Funk Records. Support them as best as you can!
Ahmed Malek – Musique Original De Films

Since my host has been unable to resuscitate A Miscellany Of Tasteful… to its former glory, it looks like I’ll be posting interesting releases here instead.
I purchased this download about two months ago, patiently waiting for a full release (there were only two tracks available as pre-release samples), and I must say the wait was worth it. Ahmed Malek (you will read about him in a forthcoming post) was a film composer from Algeria who was, truly, the Maghreb’s answer to Ennio Morricone. The tracks are hip, charming, and have an almost Italian film feel to them.
Kudos to Habibi Funk Records, the German label who continues to release fine music from North Africa.
Some Good News, Finally…
It looks like AMOTM will be operational shortly. I am considering clearing out all the posts I made here, transfering them to AMOT…, as it should be operational on Friday or Saturday at the latest, and I can concentrate on radio programming here. 10 songs will be picked, and off we go!
I Barrittas – Gambale Twist
Some wild beat madness from Italy!
Fats Domino – Whole Lotta Loving
In honor of my dear brother in Naples, Italy, Paolo, some rock & roll done right by Antoine “Fats” Domino!
On the future of AMOT…
Thankfully, the A Miscellany Of Tasteful… blog was backed up, and if I have to transfer everything, I will have lost only a few posts. However, thanks to the problems I’m having with hosting, AMOT… may have to be shelved, and The Hip Priest will have to take up the slack. No problem for me doing that, as I don’t foresee WordPress having any hosting issues, but if I have not reviewed your albums recently, you can thank a destroyed server for this.
